I’ve been watching a lot of Law & Order.
But I have also been reading.
Books I’ve Read Since Summer ‘08 Reached Its Murky Middle Month:
Jules Feiffer, Harry, The Rat With Women
- Location: The 1 Local, mostly.
- Dates: June 30th - July 1st
- Comments: The guy who did the illustrations for The Phantom Tollbooth wrote a book? Really? From 1963. You can kinda tell.

Claire Messud, The Emperor’s Children
- Location: LIRR, Montauk Branch. Schapiro.
- Dates: June something - July 8th
- Comments: I had a hard time figuring out if I liked this book. Also, it made it near impossible for me to continue working on that story. The question is: if you do a really good job at depicting really annoying people, are you worth reading? I’d still recommend it, though. If only because it hits awfully close to home when you’re studying at a “prestigious” New York university.

Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being
- Location: Schapiro.
- Dates: July 10th - July 19th
- Comments: A re-read, but a good one. Comes across as much more academic-y when you’ve been through those kinds of academics.
